KPRA Favours Taxpayers, Initiates 2-Week Drive

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) is commencing a two-week registration initiative starting today, running until March 9, 2024, aimed at assisting taxpayers conveniently, as reported in a news article on February 26.

According to the details, the KPRA Director General Fouzia Iqbal directed the KPRA’s teams to conduct door-to-door visits to businesses operating in the services sector, offering immediate registration services.

Expressing the commitment to stakeholder facilitation, Fouzia Iqbal emphasised the priority of taxpayer convenience. Taxpayers are seen as stakeholders with top priority for facilitation. A registration drive aims to simplify tasks and encourage prompt business registration with the KPRA, particularly for those in the services sector.

During the registration drive, the KPRA’s teams will be available to assist with registration, tax payments, and monthly returns filing. Additionally, individuals can reach out to the KPRA directly through WhatsApp, telephone, or by visiting its website for any queries related to registration or service tax.

As per the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sales Tax on Services Act 2022, it is mandatory for all businesses providing services in the province to pay sales tax. Registration of the business is a prerequisite for sales tax payment, and this drive aims to provide doorstep registration facilities to the business community of KP.
