According to the details Industries, Commerce, Technical Education, and Newly Merged Districts Affairs Minister Dr Syed Amer Abdullah has directed the initiation of all necessary processes for this endeavour. During a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat to discuss the establishment of EZs in the newly merged districts of the former Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA), Dr Abdullah issued these directives.

After thorough consideration, the meeting concluded to establish two zones in two districts. It was decided that these new zones should be located in areas where there are no existing industrial estates of the Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) or economic zones developed by the Economic Zones Development Company. This strategic decision aims to maximise benefits for the local population of these areas.
