ADB, LDA Meet for City’s Transport Development


Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Ali Randhawa welcomed a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) specialising in the transport sector to discuss infrastructural development across the provincial capital. The news has been brought forward via many news articles on March 1.

During the meeting, topics such as road structures, traffic engineering, smart transport mobility, environmental protection measures, and urban-friendly systems were explored. The delegation displayed interest in Lahore’s significant development projects, while the LDA DG highlighted the importance of commercial activities in ensuring the self-sustainability of smart mobility terminals.

Additionally, he shared updates on efforts to promote a cycle-friendly environment and the ongoing initiatives for electric bikes to enhance environmental safety and combat smog. Emphasising the positive impact of completed development projects on citizens, the ADB delegation acknowledged the relief provided to the public.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, Tepa Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain, WASA MD Ghafran Ahmed, Director Development Lahore Division Javed Rashed Chohan, and representatives from NESPAK, TEPA, and LDA.
